Vernissage: Monday, May 13, 2024 at 7:00 pm
Location: Goethe-Institut Paris, 17 avenue d'Iéna, 75116 Paris
It is our great pleasure to inform you today of a special exhibition opening shortly at the Goethe-Institut Paris. At the initiative of the EIT (European Institute of Innovation & Technology) Culture & Creativity in collaboration with the Media Solution Center Baden-Württemberg (MSC), the Goethe-Institut Paris is hosting the exhibition curated by the ZKM | Karlsruhe:
This exhibition was devised by Peter Weibel (1944–2023), curator, media artist, media theorist, and longtime artistic-scientific director of the ZKM | Karlsruhe. Until shortly before he died, he was exploring the question of how art changes when it makes use of new technologies and develops access to the scientific method of knowledge production. The exhibition “Renaissance 3.0. A Base Camp for New Alliances of Art and Science in the 21st Century,” which ran from March 2023 to February 2024 at the ZKM in Karlsruhe, was created under the curatorial direction of Anett Holzheid. An adapted version will now be on view at the Goethe-Institut Paris. “The Next Renaissance” is an initiative of the European Union's EIT Culture & Creativity to make innovations at the interface of culture and science in Europe more widely known — beyond the boundaries of the respective disciplines. Our goal is to create and strengthen a community of changemakers who bring about social development through new and unanticipated collaborations between culture and science.
We hope very much to welcome you to this special event, with best regards, Nicolas Ehler, 2024
