We are pleased to be part of a project of the EU platform STARTS (Science + Technology + ARTS). S+T+ARTS is driven by the conviction that science and technology in combination with an artistic perspective open up new perspectives for innovation.
In collaboration with In4Art and STATE Studio Berlin one of the three cooperation with the MSC just started where Dr. Uwe Wössner and Dr. Fabian Dembski from the HLRS - Höchstleistungsrechenzentrum Stuttgart department of visualization will be involved.
Project : Repairing the Present www.starts.eu
Berlin 2037 by Felix Gaedtke is a multisensory cyber-physical installation that connects a bicycle to a virtual reality headset. In the fictional narrative experience the young girl, Maya, sets herself a mission: to create a virtual version of her city situated in the year 2037 when the city will turn 800. A city that’s child-friendly, safe and sustainable.
Repairing with Lichen will bring a lichen-eye view to the city and will work physically with micro-rewilding guerilla actions and gamified, simulated 3D projections of the impact of lichen rewilding in the city over time.
Lichen grows at a ‘Lichen time’- meaning that the impact of the micro-rewilding will only effectuate over a timespan of beyond 40 years. Therefore, Penelope wants to add a digital component to the project to raise awareness on the timing within biodiversity, but also to create engagement in the current.
