SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: CV (maximum 3 pages in .pdf format) and a one-page motivation letter
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Each participant should bring their own laptop and smartphone with full battery
Fundación Épica La Fura dels Baus, will carry on a workshop on new tools for transmedia storytelling in live performances.
25.March ZKM: Workshop KUBUS
The workshop/hands-on session will be conducted by Pep Gatell, president of the Epica Foundation and one of the co-founders and artistic director of La Fura dels Baus, and Pedro Lorente CTO of the Fundación Épica La Fura dels Baus. The hands-on session will be opened to artists and creatives interested in exploring new technologies for live interaction with the audience as a second narrative and as a participation tool through their smartphones.
The workshop is support of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg (MWK)
Agenda morning:
- 10:00-10:15: Welcome and short introduction of the Fundación Épica la Fura dels Baus.
- 10:15-11:00: Presentation of Kalliope, the new transmedia storytelling tool developed in the Epica Foundation.
- 11:00-13:00: Collaborative creation of new creative storytelling narratives.
- 13:00-14:00: Lunch break.
Agenda afternoon:
- 14:00-18:00: Design, creation and uploading of the audiovisual content to the Kalliope platform. Presentation of the results.
- 21:00-23:00: Fundación Épica La Fura dels Baus. Part 1. Interactive presentation of the Epica Foundation la Fura dels Baus. Part 2. “The Tempest at home” based on William Shakespeare’s script. “The Tempest at home” is the result of a collective, virtual and distributed experiment, carried on between Spain and Mexico, during the COVID-19 locked-down, done in collaboration with the Mexican National Theatre company in co-production with Festival Internacional Cervantino to be premiered during its 48 edition.
